STRUCK OFF POLICY
Rustication and Expulsion:
1. Rustication:
Head of institute GINAHS may rusticate a student for misconduct or gross breach of discipline. Rustication whenever imposed on a student shall mean the loss of up to one academic year in so far as his appearance at a GINAHS /University examination is concerned. The period of absence from the institute will, however, depend upon the time when the penalty is imposed. The student under rustication will have the option of rejoining the class after completion of the penalty period. It shall be obligatory on the part of the institute to re-admit him if he wishes to rejoin. Tuition fee shall not be charged during the period of rustication or the name of the rusticated student be mentioned on the rolls of the institute.
1. No fee will be charged from rusticated students for the time during which his name remains struck off the rolls.
2. A rusticated student if readmitted may undertake the Institute or University examinations if they are eligible and provide them permission by the Head of the Institute to do so. The students themselves will be responsible for the shortage of attendance, if any.
Expulsion:
1. The Head of the Institute may expel a student for misconduct or gross breach of discipline on the report and recommendations of the institute Discipline Committee or any teacher for a period not exceeding two academic years.
2. The current academic year of the student concerned will be counted as one academic session whether the orders passed during the mid or at the end of the very academic session by the relevant authority.
3. Name of the expelled student will immediately be removed from the institute rolls, and no fee will be charged from him for subsequent months.
4. A student expelled from an institute may be re-admitted into that institute after the completion of the period of expulsion and paying all the dues.
5. Case of expulsion will be registered in the GINAHS and announced to all institutions by the concerned institute.
6. The Appellate authority (Head of Institute) may revise the notification on the recommendations of the Principal/Head of department, as the case may.
7. No Student shall be rusticated or expelled from the institute unless they have been allowed a reasonable chance of replying to the accusation against them in due span of time, usually not less than 15 days.
Appeals:
1. An appeal against the punishment of rustication or expulsion shall be referred to the appellate authority i.e. the Head of Institute, who may constitute a committee for the purpose or decide on his own.
2. No appeal shall be entertained against the decision of an authority imposing a penalty other than rustication or expulsion except claiming that the authority that imposed the penalty was not competent to do so and shall be referred to the Head of Institute.
3. No appeal by a student shall be entertained unless it is presented within 15 days from the date on which the decision is communicated to him, provided that the Head of institute may for valid reasons extend this period.
4. No appeal can be claimed in any court of law like civil court or Supreme Court against the final decisions of the Head of the institute.
Compensation for loss:
The Head of institute or any teacher or officer to whom the Head of Institute may delegate his powers may direct a student to pay compensation for any loss of or damage to property belonging to the Institute, public authority or to a fellow student or to an employee of the institute, caused by a willful act or gross negligence of the students, and if the student does not pay such compensation within 10 days, the Head Institute may expel him from the Institute.
Indiscipline during examinations:
Indiscipline in Examination Halls or around them or use of unfair means shall continue to be dealt under the in-vogue regulations for examination of the GINAHS/KMU.
Deposit of Fine
The fine imposed shall be deposited in the Finance Office of GINAHS in case of non-compliance, the head of the institute may recommend a high penalty or as deems it.
Repeal and Saving:
Subsequent to the approval of these regulations for student’s conduct and discipline at any part of GINAHS, all other regulations pertaining to conduct of students at any Department/Institute shall stand repealed. Hence the actions taken under the existing regulation shall stand. However, penalties already given through the regulations shall stand till completion of the penalties.
Uniform:
For boys white shirt and gray pants with maroon tie,only black shoes and black socks(white in summers).
For girls white shalwar maroon kameez with white dupata and maroon stoller and black shoes with black socks (white socks in summers).
Wear a student card.
White lab coat for both males and females.
Class Timing:
No student will be allowed within the class after 10 minutes of class timing, otherwise they will be marked absent.
Medical Certificate:
All students are directed to provide medical certificates along with medical leave.
Class violations:
Use of cell phones is strictly prohibited during lectures.
Fine will be charged if students get absent without application (with genuine reason).
Continuous repetition of violation may lead to increasing the fine by double the amount.
Students should treat staff with respect all the time and be courteous with fellow students.
